The Girl in Green

“A modern masterpiece.” — BookPage

“Miller dives into the complex and confusing world of the Middle East with a depth of knowledge of the region and the forces at play that is obvious on every page. His writing is direct and powerful — it’s impossible to read this without becoming angry and upset, but there is humor too, and just enough hope. I found aspects horrifying, even more so because I knew it was true. His first book, Norwegian By Night, was one of my favorite books of 2013, and I think this one’s even better.  Verdict: heart-thumping thriller.”—Herald Sun (Australia)

The Girl in Green was Shortlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger Award, “Best Crime Novel of the Year.”

American by Day

“Ingenious. Humorous. Wonderful.”—Lee Child

“Sure Derek Miller's novels are smart and full of heart and savvy and hilarious, but even more than all of this, he's fun.  He's as dedicated as any writer I know to the proposition that readers should enjoy themselves, should delight in the experience of life and language.  If our hearts get broken along the way, so much the better.”
—Richard Russo
